Polyunsaturated/Polyenyl Phospholipids (PPL) derived from soybean are used for the prevention and treatment of liver diseases. These phospholipids suppress the formation of detrimental Radical Oxygen Species (ROS). They are available either as soybean phospholipid raw material or as formulated liquid products.

Phospholipids are not inert excipients. They play a role in physiology. Therefore, it is not surprising that phospholipids provide a source of essential nutrients. In addition, they can ameliorate certain disease conditions.

Soybean phosphatidylcholine (PC) is, for instance, a source of choline and essential fatty acids, necessary to maintain the organism in balance and healthy. The polyunsaturated fatty acids present in soybean phospholipids act as scavengers for oxygen radicals, which play a role in the development of liver cirrhosis.

Lipoid provides phospholipids of different purity grades in regard to the specific phospholipid composition or in pre-formulated form ready for capsule filling. Their use as “actives” can be combined with their multifunctional properties as excipients.
