Nanoemulsions

Ultraspheres® and Ceraspheres® are finely dispersed nanoemulsions produced with phospholipids as the only emulsifier. They can be considered as natural based carrier systems for lipophilic actives like vitamins, Coenzyme Q 10, vegetable oils, etc.

Their specific features are a very small droplet size (< 300 nm) and an improved encapsulation efficacy for lipophilic actives compared to liposomes.

  • Ultraspheres® - finely dispersed emulsions with phospholipids. Delivery system for lipophilic actives.
  • Ceraspheres® - finely dispersed emulsion with stratum corneum lipids. Delivery system for lipophilic actives.

Solubilizer

Concentrated solutions of highly purified phospholipids and solvents like ethanol or propylene glycol are able to dissolve poorly oil and water soluble substances (e.g. ceramides, triglycerides with long chain fatty acids, retinol, etc.) at moderate temperatures (25 - 60 °C).
Diluting these solutions with water generates closed spherical membranes (liposomes). Lipophilic actives are entrapped within the hydrophobic region of these membranes and can be brought into an aqueous environment. In this way, lipophilic actives are “dissolved” or solubilized in water.

  • Liposolve - easy dissolving of poorly soluble actives by hydrogenated or unsaturated phospholipids
